CSV appoints Ruth Jenkins as new Director of Finance

The UK’s leading volunteering charity, CSV today (20 January 2010) confirmed that Ruth Jenkins will be taking over as Director of Finance following the retirement of the current Director, Chris Snelling on 1st April.

Ruth (30) is currently Head of Finance with Homeless Link. Ruth makes a welcome return to CSV after successfully completing professional accountancy and voluntary sector qualifications while working for Gotham Erskine (2004-09).

Speaking about the job ahead, Ruth said: “I’m really looking forward to returning to CSV to help make it easier for staff and volunteers to make a difference in the communities where they operate. I’ve always been impressed how CSV helps children at risk, improves the lives of older people and enables citizens to have a positive impact in schools, hospitals, prisons, libraries and social services. One of my key aims will be to make the information in our financial reports easier to absorb and more relevant and useable.”

Ruth has a strong track record in using her skills as a volunteer, acting as a Trustee for Peace Direct, Director of GeneWatch, working with disabled children on a CSV placement after university and helping to prepare meals for a housebound woman. Ruth started her relationship with CSV as a volunteer, before becoming Executive Assistant at CSV (2002-2004).

Ruth re-joins CSV on 1st March 2010 and will take over from Chris Snelling, who retires on 1st April following 19 years of service to the charity.
