The UK's leading volunteering and training charity.
St Elisabeth’s is a residential school for young people aged 5 to 19 with moderate to severe learning difficulties, specialising in epilepsy and related disorders. CSV full-time volunteers help both in the classroom and residential accommodation.
Helen, a teacher and volunteer supervisor says:
“CSV has been working with St Elizabeth's for over ten years. We are a large organisation delivering special care to our children. The dedication, loyalty and enthusiasm of the volunteers generated by giving up a year of their time is priceless. We as an organisation would struggle to deliver the best care without our volunteers. Many of our volunteers stay with us to become full time staff - what better advertisement for CSV could you ask for.”
CSV volunteers are on-hand 24 hours a day to add value to the services offered by the school. They work alongside paid staff – they don’t have the same level of responsibility but their presence means staff can give additional attention to individual pupils where it is needed. CSV volunteers help ensure all pupils have full access to the National Curriculum and to all on-site facilities.
